Firestone F560 Radial Tire | 145R15

Firestone F560 radial tires are a perfect choice for compact European sports cars and they're great for the front of hot rods. The 145R15 sizing allows for many authentic fitments, and this blackwall radial tire is a favorite among Austin Healey, MG, Fiat, Porsche, Volkswagen, Citroen and Renault enthusiasts. The tread design and compound offer great dry and wet handling, while the tall sidewall and narrow tread profile provide the right look for many vintage sports cars. The Firestone F560 is a steel belted radial with P speed rating. All Firestone F560 tires are DOT and ECE approved.

Radial Tire Construction

Radial tires were first introduced by Michelin in the 1950's, and by the mid 1970's, all American cars came from the factory with radial tires. Radial tire construction means that the tire's ply layers are positioned at a 90 degree angle to the bead. This allows the tire to flex and glide over bumps and breaks in the road. Radial tires provide a smoother ride and longer tread life than bias ply tires. We offer wide whitewall radial tires, as well as narrow whitewalls, redlines, gold lines and high performance radial tires.

Question:
What is the difference between "R" and "SR" in the tire size; i.e. 145SR15
By Joseph Meehan on January 24, 2020
Answer:

"R" denotes radial, "S" is speed rating. Where there is no "S" or higher letter, you may assume speed rating is "P". P is up to 93 MPH, "S" is up to 112 MPH.
