The car started out a little on the rough side, but with some replacement sheet metal, and a bunch of other replacement trim parts and interior components from Year One, the car is now a nicely finished Tri-Five with a cool custom look. To get the right stance, the Honest Charley boys installed two-inch drop spindles up front and three-inch lowering blocks out back. They also moved the leaf springs inward to create more real estate for tires and wheels.
With this in mind, they installed a set of 17x8-inch Rocket Booster wheels out back, wrapped in 255/45ZR17 BFGoodrich g-Force tires. Up front, the sizing is a bit smaller to create a classic hot rod rake--sizing consists of 17x7-inch wheels and 235/45ZR17 tires. The Hyper Shot finish on the wheels features a painted center section with a machined outer lip, but Rocket Booster wheels are also available in many different finishes and sizes.
The finished product is a super clean car with a great mix of classic and modern styling elements. The two-tone paint job, classic interior, well-detailed small block Chevy engine and Rocket Booster wheels are the perfect combination!
