Around the World in a Model T

It's not often that we run across an antique car enthusiast who sets out on a journey to drive around the world, but when we heard about the Model T World Tour, we wanted to be a part of it! Dirk Regter is the driver and Trudy Roorda is the co-driver, and they're based out of Holland. The Model T World Tour is a multi-year venture, which started in 2012 and ends in 2015. This year, Dirk and Trudy are in the North America, and we ran into them at the AACA Hershey swap meet! The 1915 Ford Model T touring car is rolling on a set of our Firestone 30x3-1/2 clincher tires and we supplied them with several spares in case they run into a problem. The journey will send them to 50 countries, logging more than 50,000 miles along the way. The goal of this world tour is to raise money to support the worldwide work of SOS Children's Villages International. Dirk and Trudy visited SOS Children's Villages in Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenia, Tanzania and Zambia. It's a great drive for a great cause, and we're glad they're rolling on Firestones from Coker Tire!
