Cheyenne, WY to Rapid City, SD--Day 6 of the Great Race
It was another day of covering a lot of territory, as we headed north from Cheyenne, Wyoming and intended to be in Rapid City, South Dakota by the end of the day. Lots of road construction delayed our travels, but we made it to the lunch stop in Lusk, Wyoming with just enough time to grab a bite to eat and get back on the road. From there, it was a long transit to the restart area, but then it was a magnificent drive through the Black Hills National Forest, as well as Custer State Park and several others. We also drove to the Mount Rushmore National Memorial at the end of the day's route. Finally, we rolled out of the mountains and into Rapid City, South Dakota, where there was a party going on! Rapid City has Thursday Night concerts and we just happened to be in town, which made for one of the biggest stops in Great Race history. Tomorrow we go to the Badlands, and see even more awesome scenery. Take a look at some highlights from today! 160623_GR16_0009 160623_GR16_0052 160623_GR16_0118 160623_GR16_0180 160623_GR16_0217 160623_GR16_0303 160623_GR16_0356 160623_GR16_0292 160623_GR16_0366
