Day 5 Photo Highlights from the 2018 Great Race
We have eclipsed the half way point of the 2018 Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty. We're spending a few days in Maine, exploring the back roads and some really cool destinations. Today's route sent us on a maze of bumpy back roads leading to a spectacular lunch stop in Owl's Head, Maine. The Owl's Head Transportation Museum welcomed us by providing lunch, opening the doors to the museum and doing fly-by's in vintage airplanes all day. It was an awesome stop, and our only complaint is that we wanted to stay longer! From there, we hopped back on the road, finishing a tough day of rallying with a great evening stop in Bangor, Maine. Team Coker Tire knocked out an awesome day, and ended up in a tie for the best raw score of the day. After the age factor is accounted for, Gary and Jean Ann Martin finished third with a final score of 13.58 seconds. This bumped them up to 5th place in the cumulative standings, and they are within about 5 seconds from the overall leaders (Jody Knowles and Beth Gentry). Tomorrow, we go to Seal Cove and Bar Harbor, so stay tuned for more highlights and updates from the road.
