140621_GR14_0650 What started as a beautiful morning in Ogunquit, Maine, surrounded by thousands of spectators, ended as a beautiful evening in Lowell, Massachusetts, surrounded by thousands of spectators. Today was phenomenal, in terms of the venues, the crowds and the cities. The rallying was tough, with lots of tricky sections, including a very long, low-speed run that was especially tough. Scores for Team Coker were respectable, but back-to-back Grand Champions of the Great Race (Barry and Irene Jason) wowed the competition staff with a perfect score. The Jason's swapped to a newer car (a Mustang, as opposed to their trusty '35 Ford coupe) but it certainly hasn't hindered their ability to dominate a vintage car rally. Now, it's time to buckle down and see if we can catch them. For now, take a look at some of our favorite shots from Day One of the Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty. 140621_GR14_0476 140621_GR14_0909 140621_GR14_0993 140621_GR14_1342 140621_GR14_1507 140621_GR14_1547
