Don't Let the Government Control the Automotive Hobby!
Some call it a hobby, some call it a passion, some call it an industry...we call it LIFE! Cars, trucks, motorcycles from all eras and for all applications matter to us, and we're sure they matter to you too. If it has tires, we're passionate about it. On several occasions, the EPA has tried to control our hobby with restrictions on emissions. The most recent case is the EPA attempting to make it unlawful to convert vehicles originally designed for on-road use into racecars. If you do choose to build a racecar out of a titled street car, this new legislation would require that the car have its original emissions equipment in place. 150815_TLB_1103 Just think about it--every weekend warrior racer takes a street car and builds it into a racecar. Only racers at a professional level (think NASCAR and top level NHRA divisions) build specific cars from scratch for competition. We obviously don't want the weekend warriors to go away, and we don't want the government telling us what we can or cannot do with our vehicles. We could go on and on about the subject, but we're just glad that organizations such as SEMA step in to fight these ridiculous laws. SEMA has started a White House petition demanding that the EPA remove this proposal. The goal was 100,000 signatures, which was met already, but we need the White House to be overwhelmed with the response to this ridiculous proposal. Please take a moment to "sign" the petition against the EPA's new proposal against grass roots motorsports. CLICK HERE TO SIGN THE PETITION! 150425_Mitty_0029
