The Firestone Wide Oval Radial tire is something we've been dreaming about for years. We're muscle car guys and we're tire guys, so we've always wanted to mix authentic looks with the ride, safety and tread life of a modern radial. Coker Tire is proud to announce the brand new Firestone Wide Oval Radial, a product that uses Firestone heritage and radial construction to create the ultimate muscle car tire! Along with the new product launch, we're also celebrating 50 years of the Firestone Wide Oval. As the muscle car era exploded in the mid-to-late '60s, the horsepower levels went sky high and that meant the traction department also needed an upgrade. The development team at Firestone debuted the "Wide Oval" tire in 1966, as it rolled beneath countless 1967 muscle cars. The original design was a redline, which was later phased out, in favor of raised white letters. Coker Tire offers Firestone Wide Oval Radial Raised White Letter tires in popular muscle car sizes to fit 14- and 15-inch wheels. Sizes include FR70-14, GR70-14, FR70-15, GR70-15 and FR60-15. Firestone Wide Oval Radial Redline tires are available in FR70-14, GR70-14, FR70-15 and GR70-15.
The list of applications is endless, thanks to a wide range of sizes that cover a span from 1967 to 1974. The fact of the matter is that you can also retrofit these radials onto an even earlier car, like a 1964 Pontiac GTO, or even dip into the pre-muscle car era, with some of the high horsepower Mopars, Fords and GM products of the early '60s. We're proud to tell you that the new Firestone Wide Oval Radial is designed and manufactured in the USA, using new molds and materials. The tires are DOT approved and feature an S speed rating, which is perfect for everyday use on your muscle car.
