The 2018 Great Race Takes off from Buffalo, New York
Today, we officially started another Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty. Coker Tire has been involved with the Great Race for many years, and has orchestrated the event in-house since 2011. It is a huge undertaking, but it's a labor of love for Director Jeff Stumb and the rest of the Coker staff who contribute to the effort. This year, the route takes us from Buffalo, New York to Halifax, Nova Scotia, by way of the back roads of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and of course New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. It's an epic route that will give us some great scenery, and lots of cool towns to visit. Like last year, Gary and Jean Ann Martin are "Team Coker Tire" in their Coker Blue Chevy II. They're running on a set of our BFGoodrich Redline radials and Chevy Rallye wheels. There is a high percentage of teams who use Coker Tire products on their Great Race vehicle, as our tires offer great performance and authentic looks. Today's route took us from Buffalo, New York to Fairport, New York, home of Howard and Doug Sharp. The crowds in Buffao and in Fairport were amazing, considering the weather forecast. Take a look at some of our highlights from the day's action and stay tuned to our posts for daily updates and photo highlights.
