Great Race Offers the BEST Pre-Race Activities!
For the past few days, we've been in San Rafael, California, gearing up for the 2016 Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty. We've had a busy week of pre-race activities, and the next nine days will be wide-open as a Case knife. Earlier this week, we had a movie night at the Rafael Theater for a showing of "The Great Race" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic film. Ted Stahl provided the "Leslie Special" and the "Hannibal 8" cars from the movie to be on display in front of the theater. Thursday was even busier, with a photo opportunity at the Golden Gate Bridge, a few hot laps at Sonoma Raceway, a viewing of the Charlie Goodman car collection and a dinner cruise on the San Francisco Bay. All of this led up to Friday's activities, starting with a big meeting, Rally School and the Hagerty Trohpy Run. Take a look at some of our highlights from the pre-race activities and stay tuned to the blog, as well as our Facebook page to follow along with the race.
