10 Great Events to Attend Before Christmas

You�d think we get bored around here once summer is over. You�d be wrong. There�s still plenty of great events to attend before the old man winter chases us indoors. Check out this awesome lineup of things to do and see this fall.

Charlotte Autofair | Charlotte, NC | September 22-25

This big spring show at Charlotte Motor Speedway is well known in the southeast, but there�s another chance to experience this awesome swap meet in late September. The AACA Hornets Nest bunch puts on an awesome event with plenty of parts available to keep you busy over the winter.

Somernites Power Cruise | Somerset, KY | September 24-25

Folks in the south know that it doesn�t get much better than this traditional cruise in to Somerset, Kentucky. The Somernites Power Cruise is the grand finish to their summer cruise in season each fall, the last weekend of September. There are a few rally points in surrounding areas (including Coker Tire headquarters) where you can meet up and caravan in to a classic cruise in that consumes the entire town of Somerset on Saturday.

Fall Carlisle | Carlisle, PA | September 28 - October 2

Car guys know that Carlisle is car town USA. The fall event features a swap meet, car corral and auction. There are 150 acres and over 8,000 vending spaces of incredible automobile goodies. Don�t overlook this powerhouse of a swap meet located in south central Pennsylvania.

Cruisin� the Coast | Mississippi Gulf Coast | October 2-9

Talk about the deep deep south, Cruisin� the Coast has grown into a huge event since it started in 1996. There are tons of organized events and countless unorganized meets all over the area. 2015 saw over 7,600 vehicles registered for the event! This is a big one, folks. Find a way to get down there and experience southern hospitality and literally thousands of cool cars and trucks.

Fall Hershey | Hershey, PA | October 5-8

This is the granddaddy of swap meets. You already know about the event know simply as Hershey, but you'd better do some advanced planning so you can see all that you want to see. This thing is way too big not to have a good plan of attack. Swap meet, car corral, auctions and all sorts of good stuff goes on throughout the 4 day mega event. Hershey is Bucket List material!

Barber Vintage Festival | Leeds, AL | October 7-9

This motorcycle event located just outside Birmingham, has steadily grown into a monster over the last decade. The 12th Annual edition of the Barber Vintage Festival will play host to 100,000 spectators in early October and features a who�s who of the collector motorcycle world. See classic and antique bikes ripping up the beautiful race course and browse the swap meet, vendors and special attractions in one the very nicest venues in the country.

The Race of Gentlemen | Pismo Beach, CA | October 15-16

Usually a bucket list item takes a while to blossom into just such a thing. Legends are usually built over decades of success, but TROG has vaporized that conventional wisdom. Celebrating automobile heritage in period-correct fashion, the invitation only race started on the beach in Wildwood, New Jersey and now rocks a second event in Pismo for west coast patrons. Hot rods and bikes drag racing on the beach? Yes, please!

SEMA Show | Las Vegas, NV | November 1-4

You can call the mighty SEMA Show a bunch of things, trend-setting or jaw-dropping for example. For sure, the automotive world�s course is set by the largest trade show in the world year after year. Thousands of innovative products are bolted and welded to a mind-melting array of cars, trucks and recreational vehicles for this show. This is a trade-only event, which makes it even more unbelievable that is has become such a mainstream sensation in recent years. You might not be able to attend, but you can easily follow this one through social media the first week of November.

Chattanooga Cruise-In Toy Drive | Chattanooga, TN | November 19

Riding on the wild success of our annual spring Cruise-in, we decided to dedicate our fall event to collecting toys for children. We can think of no better way to spend a Saturday than filling trucks with thousands of toys destined for kids that wouldn�t have much otherwise. Daytona Turkey Run | Daytona Beach, FL | November 24-27

Long regarded as the last big event of the year for street rodders, the Turkey [Rod] Run is legendary. Thousands flock to Daytona, for one last dose of sunshine and a Thanksgiving dinner on the road. The event has been going strong since 1974 and claims to be the largest combined car show & swap meet in the US with over 6,000 vehicles and thousands of vendor spaces. Best of all, The Daytona Turkey Run has contributed over $7 million to charity over the years. Don�t forget your sunscreen!
