141105_SEMA_0200 Rutledge Wood is one of the most popular personalities in the car world. His career on TV started with NASCAR, and while he continues to work in that field, he also has a gig on the History Channel with a show called Top Gear. One of three hosts, Rutledge offers a distinct level of excitement and comedy to the show, and he's a real deal car guy. Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to be a part of his 1953 Plymouth Suburban station wagon build, which was scheduled to debut at the 2014 Hot Rod Power Tour. And now, it's on the car show circuit, including the SEMA Show. The wagon was given to Rutledge by legendary NASCAR racer, Richard Petty. Kenwood Rod Shop handled the build, while great sponsors, such as Summit Racing made sure the car had a long list of cool parts on it. The wagon is powered by a 408 cubic inch Mopar engine, and it has tons of custom details inside and out. And while the build came down to the wire, we had exactly what he needed, and we even hand delivered the tires to him in Georgia. Rutledge chose a set of BFGoodrich Silvertown 215/65R16 whitewall radial tires, which are mounted to 16x7-inch Smoothie wheels. The combination looks great, and we're glad Rutledge chose Coker Tire for his awesome build!
