How do I measure the original rims (1953 Chevy PU 3100) to determine the correct tire size required? Also, same for tube size?

The net difference is the amount of load capacity achieved by additional plies being used in the tire construction. Refer to to the load capacity provided in the "Specifications" of any tire listing to determine if a particular tire meets or exceeds the requirements of your vehicle.
