Tri-Five Chevy Products from Coker Tire
If there were ever three years of the automobile that perfectly embodies the popularity of classic cars, it would be the 1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevrolet. The three-year run of full size cars, often referred to as Tri Five Chevy, are a staple in the collector car market. Chevrolet introduced the 1955 Chevrolet as a brand new body style and chassis, and also used it as a vehicle to debut the new overhead valve V8 "small block Chevy" engine. With several body style options, trim level options and engine options, the cars sold very well, encouraging Chevrolet to up the game in 1956.
Again, sales continued to soar, and Chevrolet took that momentum into 1957 with a futuristic body design, lots of stainless steel trim, and yet another new engine option, the 283ci small block. It was a banner year for Chevrolet, as this was also the debut of Rochester fuel injection, a very hot topic in the automotive industry. Tri-Five Chevys came from the factory with bias ply tires and steel wheels, and depending on the trim package, some of them had wide whitewalls and full wheel covers. The base model cars typically came with blackwall tires and smaller center caps.
Coker Tire offers many options for Tri-Five enthusiasts, ranging from period correct original-style bias ply tires to our bias look radial tire offerings. We also offer a wide range of fitments to fit custom builds, like gassers and lowered applications as well. Whether it's bias ply or radial, Coker Tire has the right equipment for your classic Tri-Five.
