Coker Classic 560-15 bias ply tires are the perfect tire for a classic Volkswagen Beetle, or front runner tire for your hot rod. This small tire is the original size for 1954 through 1957 Austin, 1963 through 1968 Fiat 1600, 1950 through 1962 MG (TD, TF and MGA), and many more classic sports cars. The 2.75 inch wide whitewall looks best on 1950's cars, but can be used for a classic look on 1960's cars as well. Classic whitewall tires have been a top choice for hot rods, classics and customs for decades. Coker wide white wall tires feature genuine whitewall construction and authentic deluxe tread designs. These Coker Classic bias ply wide whitewalls are made in the USA. DOT and ECE (European Union) approved, and backed by our life of the tread warranty. Please note that dimensions listed tread width, section width and overall diameter are non-scientific and based on an inflated tire, mounted on a wheel. Dimensions may vary due to rim width and inflation pressure.

Question:
Is this comparable to the VW size 165/80/15 and will it fit the 1970 VW rim without any problems?
By Ralph on December 14, 2017
Answer:

Yes, this is a comparable size and should work for you. Although your 1970 Beetle would not have come with a 560-15, it is a size that came standard on earlier examples of the Beetle.
