Firestone Dragster tires are cheater slicks, designed for nostalgia drag cars, hot rods and rat rods. Vintage Cheater Dragster Slicks have "just enough" tread to be DOT approved, yet still have the vintage drag race styling. These work well with any of our other Firestone Deluxe Champion bias ply tires. These tires feature genuine whitewall construction, built-in from the very beginning and are also available as blackwalls depending on the look you're going for. Firestone Dragster Whitewall Cheater Slicks are bias ply tires, and they feature a rubber compound that is great for the street or strip. The four ply polyester construction makes for a sturdy tire for any hot rod application. Coker Tire Company produces these Firestone cheater slicks in brand new molds built from the original Firestone drawings, so they are as authentic as you can get! Made in the USA!

Genuine Wide Whitewall Tire

This product features a genuine wide whitewall sidewall style. This means that the bright white rubber is added directly to the tire sidewall during initial construction of the carcass, resulting in a truly integrated, high-quality product after vulcanization. Wide whitewall tires were a very popular choice from the 1930's through the end of the 1950's, and were eventually phased out of mainstream production by 1962. Originally, wide whitewall tires featured a bias ply construction, but now Coker Tire offers them in original style bias ply and modern radial construction.

Bias Ply Construction

Bias ply tire construction is a method that was used from the 1900's through the 1970's on passenger cars and light trucks. Bias ply tires feature ply cords that run at a 45 degree angle to the bead, and overlap in a crisscross pattern, depending on how many ply layers are used. This creates a strong tire, but bias ply tires have a tendency to follow breaks or ruts in the pavement. Bias ply tires are the most authentic choice for classic car restorations and traditional hot rod builds. Coker Tire offers a huge variety of bias ply tires for many applications.

Firestone Tires for Collector Vehicles

Coker Tire is proud to offer authentic Firestone tires for a wide range of cars, trucks and motorcycles built from the 1900's through the 1970's. We offer Firestone Non Skid tires, Firestone Deluxe Champion tires, Firestone Wide Oval tires and many more famous styles and sizes to fit military vehicles, motorcycles and classic commercial trucks. With whitewalls, redlines, raised white letters and other classic sidewall styles, this product line is one of our most extensive and popular brands.

Product Questions & Answers

Question:
How well do the 1000-15 sit on an 8" rim? Will the tire "tread" surface sit flat or will it bow out in the center as I have experienced with another brand of cheater slick?

Answer:

With the narrower rim the sidewalls will bulge a bit more than if you went with a 9" or 10" rim.
