Question:
I have a 1972 VW Transporter with a set of old BF Goodrich Trail Maker Plus 185/14. Is there an equivalent in a 205 size for under $100 each?
By Steve on February 25, 2016
Answer:

A 205 sized tire is not equivalent because by the very nature of how tires are sized, it will be not only wider (205 mm vs. 185 mm), but it will also be taller as the sidewall height is proportional to the width. We would recommend simply continuing to use the correct, stock tire size for your vehicle.

By joe on January 16, 2017
Answer:

Yes, this 205/75R14 radial is the proper conversion size from the OE 750-14 bias ply tires. Be sure to order tubes as well!
