U.S. Royal Wide Whitewall

U.S. Royal tires were original equipment of many of the classics through the sixties. Coker Tire Company proudly offers classic US Royal tires for restored and surviving vehicles from the fifties and sixties. These tires are available in several popular 14- and 15-inch sizes with a genuine wide whitewall sidewall. Narrow whitewalls are also available in select sizes. U.S. Royal tires with classic pie crust upper sidewalls feature a beautiful genuine wide whitewall and authentic markings and tread patterns.

Genuine Wide Whitewall Tire

This product features a genuine wide whitewall sidewall style. This means that the bright white rubber is added directly to the tire sidewall during initial construction of the carcass, resulting in a truly integrated, high-quality product after vulcanization. Wide whitewall tires were a very popular choice from the 1930's through the end of the 1950's, and were eventually phased out of mainstream production by 1962. Originally, wide whitewall tires featured a bias ply construction, but now Coker Tire offers them in original style bias ply and modern radial construction.

Bias Ply Construction

Bias ply tire construction is a method that was used from the 1900's through the 1970's on passenger cars and light trucks. Bias ply tires feature ply cords that run at a 45 degree angle to the bead, and overlap in a crisscross pattern, depending on how many ply layers are used. This creates a strong tire, but bias ply tires have a tendency to follow breaks or ruts in the pavement. Bias ply tires are the most authentic choice for classic car restorations and traditional hot rod builds. Coker Tire offers a huge variety of bias ply tires for many applications.
