Maybe you have heard me say that I have the absolute best job in the world. Not only do I get to be around car guys (who just happen to be the best people in the world) every day, but I get to "play in my work and work in my play". I am a consummate car guy, gear head, barn finder etc....you get the picture. I also get to go to really cool events all over the world. Every year mid August, the collector car world converges on the Monterey Peninsula for the Pebble Beach Concours de Elegance held at the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course near 17 mile drive in Monterey. It is really, really cool to see all the phenomenal cars from all over the world. If you want to see cars that are clearly "over restored"....this is the crme de la crme place to go. The whole week is a day by day overload of auctions, car shows, receptions, and elbow rubbins... My good friend, McKeel Hagerty's company Hagerty Insurance created a "Dawn Patrol" to watch the cars drive onto the lawn.I have never participated. Never have, because those guys are crazy. Crazy enough to get up and out at 3:45AM to get their places, brew the coffee and arrange the donuts. I have a serious terminal car disease but at least I ain't crazy like those dang Yankees! My good friends Barry Megiuar and Alan Taylor and I did Car Crazy Radio. I'm posting a few shots of three knuckleheads. Also the bottom picture is Peter Mullin's 1934 Voisin which I clearly chose also to be the winner of the Best of Show. Congrats Peter, serious stunning, art deco French car. I like it a lot.
