[caption id="attachment_3168" align="aligncenter" width="639"] We are not in Chattanooga, TN anymore...[/caption] Most businesses have at least one trade show to hang their hats on. The automotive aftermarket is no different, with several awesome shows throughout the year, but the grand daddy of them all is the SEMA Show. The Specialty Equipment Marketing Association's annual gathering is a monster of a trade show bringing thousands of buyers and sellers in the automotive aftermarket to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada every year the First week of November. The 2012 SEMA Show will feature more than 2,000 exhibitors and more than 1,500 brand new products to browse. With over 60,000 qualified buyers on hand around 125,000 industry professionals connecting, you start to get the picture. This sucker is big big big like gigantic! Coker Tire Company has deep roots with the SEMA organization holding such honors as Corky's many terms on the SEMA board of directors, his term served as chairman of the board in 2003 and his help establishing the SEMA Political Action Committee. It goes even further, Corky Coker was inducted into the SEMA Hall of Fame in 2008, keeping company with the likes of the late-great Carroll Shelby and Bill France Sr., to name a few. Even our own Honest Charley Speed Shop has history with SEMA with Honest Charley Card himself a SEMA Hall-of-Famer. This show is a big deal for enthusiasts around the world and the manufacturers and vendors who support the automotive aftermarket as well. The SEMA Show is widely known as THE place to roll out products and ideas that center around the automotive aftermarket. So it's that time of year again, when the greatest show (about cars and trucks) on Earth rolls into Las Vegas with bells on. We had to kick the dirt off our boots and saddle up for a trip out west. Most of the Coker team hopped in a rental van this morning and headed to Nashville to hop the next plane out. Our Show truck loaded with goodies for the big show was waiting for us, having left on Tuesday. A quick hop to Birmingham, AL and a four hour skip to Las Vegas, NV and our boys are on the ground a day early. Setup for the show takes the entire day(Monday) so there a little elbow grease yet to be applied before we're ready to rock. We managed to find an In-N-Out Burger to smooth over a full day of traveling(and time zone jumping) before we get a good night's rest in the books. Vegas is always hopping, but there's something special in the air when this many car guys and gals roll into town.
