With most of the painting complete, Hal and Delton could get busy on reassembling the Marmon Wasp chassis and getting it back on its wheels. Speaking of wheels, Richard worked his magic on the wheels to recreate the original look, and had help from J.D. Scott to machine a few necessary parts for the hubs. The end result is a perfectly matched appearance, down to the intentional dings in the wheel covers. The front springs are a little beefier than before, in preparation for the much heavier engine, which is a subject we'll cover tomorrow if everything goes as planned. The Marmon Wasp will rely on rear brakes only, and they are now complete, with brake lines and a master cylinder. Hal and Delton are hammering away at the chassis to get it rolling, while Zane finishes the details on the body, Richard fabricates brackets and Greg works on the exhaust system. From the looks of it, the first drive will occur by the end of this week, which is astonishing, considering where the build started a week or so ago. Anyway, here are today's progress pictures...enjoy!
