That's right! All of the hard work by the guys at Honest Charley Garage is paying off because the rumble of the massive T-Head engine is filling the shop! Hal and Delton teamed up and installed all of the necessary components to fire this thing up, and boy does it sound awesome! We're really getting pumped, as the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500 draws closer and closer! At the same time, we know there's a lot of work left to do on the Marmon Wasp, so we're really leaning on our guys at HCG to get the job done. [caption id="attachment_1444" align="alignleft" width="500" caption="YES, that is fire coming out of the cylinders! Hal is over there controlling the throttle, while we soaked up the exhaust fumes and enjoyed the fireworks display!"][/caption] Richard was tasked with modifying the water inlet tubing, which is comprised of a mixture of copper and brass. He took all of the right precautions and gave it a little heat persuasion to make the correct bend. After it was complete, and test-fitted, inlet was polished to a high gloss before installing it for good. Just so you know, Zane is still painting....he's down to the final steps of paint the numbers on the cowl and tail piece flag, so it's almost time for the body to go back on! Richard is the man!"][/caption] Greg is working on the log-style exhaust manifold, which features three outlets to fit within the reliefs in the hood side. The log manifold will create enough back pressure for the engine, but with no muffler this thing is going to sound awesome! No words can describe the excitement in the shop, and we can assure you a trip around the block is not too far away. Stay tuned!
