140602_Lookouts_0002 This year, Coker Tire sponsored the "Classic Car Night" event at the Chattanooga Lookouts. Our local baseball team has a beautiful facility near the Tennessee River right here in downtown Chattanooga, so it's a great setting for an evening game in the summer time. We pulled eight cars out of the Coker Tire Museum and put them on display for all the folks to see, and we also held our company picnic on the same night, so most of the Coker Tire staff was on hand for the event. 140602_Lookouts_0034 Corky, joined by a very special passenger, drove the Shafer 8 racecar out on the field to help deliver the first pitch. That passenger's name is Cameron, and he is a selected beneficiary of the Austin Hatcher Foundation for pediatric cancer, who won the battle with cancer but still needs special medical attention. Cameron did the honors of throwing out the first pitch and did an awesome job! Another young man that has benefited from the Austin Hatcher Foundation is Brandon, who also got to ride in the Shafer 8, as it exited the field, after the first pitch. Brandon told Corky how much he loved cars, and how one car guy in particular is his favorite--Chip Foose. Corky pulled out his phone and called Chip on the spot, so Brandon could speak to the car guy he looks up to so very much. It was a very touching night at AT&T Field, and we're glad to have been a part of Classic Car Night. It's a great event and it's great for our community to see old cars out and about (instead of being stored in a museum).
