Sioux Falls, SD to Cedar Rapids, Iowa--Day 8 of the Great Race

It's getting down to the wire on the Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty! We're biting our nails as the final two days of competition are known as the Championship Run, where racers are not allowed to throw out their worst leg of the day. The day's route was a tough one with lots of turns and maneuvers over the course of the day. A wonderful lunch stop in Mason City, Iowa was sunny and hot, but as soon as we got back to rallying in the afternoon, we finally got some cloud cover! The afternoon route was once again farm land and a bunch of tough turns. Gary and Jean Ann Martin of Team Coker Tire have led the entire race, but had a rough day today, which allowed G.R. Pike and Bobby Hadskey slide ahead of them. The two are only separated by a little over one second, so we'll just have to see how it shakes out tomorrow!
