Collector Car Appreciation Day

It's always a high priority for Coker Tire, Honest Charley and any automotive aftermarket company to promote the collector car hobby and encourage enthusiasts to actually get their cars out and drive them! First and foremost, driving your car wears out tires, so that's job security for our team here in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but it's also a key element in keeping the hobby alive for future generations. If these timeless classic cars stay stored inside a garage for months and years at a time, it'll be hard to influence today's youth with good old fashioned American iron. That's why Collector Car Appreciation Day was born.

Collector Car Appreciation Day is a legitimate holiday...the folks at SEMA passed it through Congress and it's celebrated every year on the second Friday in July. 2023 marks the 14th consecutive year that Collector Car Appreciation Day was celebrated, and we've always done our part to recognize the special day. This year, we had our biggest turnout ever, as we joined forces with our neighbors at the Coker Museum at Honest Charley to provide a cool venue and a great time for all participants. Free hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks were provided by Honest Charley, as well as free tours of the Coker Museum. It was an awesome time on a Friday, and we hope to continue working together with Honest Charley on more great automotive events in the future.

Continuing the patina look is this mid '60s Chevy C10 pickup. It has a nice stance, which is complemented by a set of OE 6 lug steel wheels and BFG wide whitewall radial tires.

You don't often see a 1939 Mercury convertible at a car show and this one has the traditional hot rod look with a nose down stance and big-n-little Firestones, wrapped around red steelies. A hopped up Flathead V8 rides under the hood.

Check out this survivor! It's a 1969 Camaro that's all original, aside from a few mechanical pieces, and of course the tires. In this case, the owner upgraded to Cooper Cobra radials.
