Excelsior Tires | Excelsior Tire

The world's first line of radial tires offered in sizes and styles to replace popular bias ply profiles. The Stahl Sport Radial from Excelsior Tire is inspired by vintage competition tires and is equally at home on vintage racers as it is on hot rods. This tire has also become very popular on deuce coupes, Model A hot rods and roadsters. Excelsior Tires are made in the USA and DOT/ECE (European Community) approved. Please note that dimensions listed tread width, section width and overall diameter are non-scientific and based on an inflated tire, mounted on a wheel. Dimensions may vary due to rim width and inflation pressure.

Question:
What makes a tire tubeless vs tube? What determines wheather a tire is tube or tubeless? The tire or rim?
By Pete Robsham on August 05, 2018
Answer:

Both dimension and construction material determine whether a tire is tubeless or tube type. However, many times you will still have to use a tube even in a tubeless tire if your rim does not hold a seal (for example: a wire wheel).

Question:
How much more of a tire profile do you get (in inches) comparing a 500/16 to a 550/16. Not like overall diameter but from rim to edge of tire? i am looking for a small tire profile like a 500/16 but still want a taller front tire.
By Erny on October 09, 2018
Answer:

It sounds like you would like to know the sidewall height, correct? If so, the 500R16 has a 4.5" tall sidewall, and the 550R16 has a 5.25".

Question:
cannot find inner tube for the 500 R16 size on your website. Please provide info on tube to purchase.
By Jim H Ishimaru on September 29, 2018
Answer:

Click Here for the proper tube. If you have rims with valve stem holes wider than 3/8" (closer to 5/8") then you will need these as well: Click Here
