We love getting phone calls and emails from our happy customers. It's one of the most rewarding parts of our job, besides knowing that we're keeping collector vehicles on the road with high quality tires and wheels. Lately, we've gotten quite a few pictures of cars and trucks that are now wearing a set of our tires, and we wanted to pass them along to you. Buying authentic tires for a collector vehicle can be a tough decision. Even within our product ranges, there are typically a few choices for any given make or model, so having some expert guidance goes a long way. That's why our team of Sales Representatives are waiting for your call--we can help with tire fitment, brand selection and additional accessories to make your collector vehicle really stand out. We realize that tires and wheels are expensive, and you don't want to take a chance with that type of investment. Listed below are just a few of our most recent customer
Leading up to the SEMA Show, we always get the inside scoop on killer project cars. We had the opportunity to be a part of a very cool build that is on display in the Ford booth in Hot Rod Alley. The Ford booth is always a destination booth, and this year, there are a bunch of new-for-2015 Mustangs on hand with many custom treatments. The Watson Racing prepared Mustang has a drag racing theme, making north of 700 horsepower, thanks to a supercharged 5.0-liter engine. Our involvement with the project car was a set of M&H Racemaster DOT-approved drag radials, sized at 185/55R17 and 325/45R17. These tires will stick to the drag strip, and they're legal for the street, so it was the perfect combination for the new Mustang. Also, the huge brakes on these cars require at least a 17-inch wheel, so our M&H product line had 'em covered with radial tires for 17-inch front runner wheels, and sticky drag radials out back. Check it out!
The SEMA Show is the biggest automotive event of the year. It's a trade show with thousands of vendors, and thousands of awesome cars, trucks and motorcycles on display. Folks from around the world attend the event to show off new products, and increase sales for their businesses. It's a huge opportunity for everyone involved, and we're glad to have a big presence at the show. We have an indoor booth in Hot Rod Alley (booth number 22775), and we have a tractor trailer rig in the Silver Lot outside. This year, we debuted a brand new booth design, which has a vintage gas station theme.
Racing a vintage car is a gamble--it's putting a priceless piece of racing history in harm's way around every corner. Parts can fail and drivers can make mistakes, so to say vintage road racing is dangerous and exciting is an understatement. We love racing, especially if it involves vintage cars, so it was no-brainer for us to be a part of the Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty. The race is held at Road Atlanta, which is just down the road from us in Braselton, Georgia.
This day in automotive history changed the performance car market forever. April 17th, 1964 is when Ford launched its new 1964-1/2 Mustang, a car that would be classified as a "Pony Car". It started a whole new segment of the performance car marketplace, encouraging GM to develop the Camaro and Firebird, and the Chrysler Corporation to develop the Barracuda and Challenger. These cars were fast and affordable, and as the years went on, Mustangs were available with many different options, allowing buyers to personalize their new ride. Fast forward 50 years, and we're still celebrating the legacy that the Mustang created. Here at Coker Tire, we love Mustangs and offer many choices for tires, wheels and accessories for restored original and customized Mustangs!
Another great day at SEMA 2013 is in the books, and we spent another day walking the show to give you a glimpse of some of the coolest machines on hand. We've been hitting our Instagram and Facebook pages pretty hard, so be sure to check those out, as well as our YouTube channel for cool videos from the show. We didn't have any press conferences today, but man, we had a busy day. It was wall-to-wall action, so take a minute to enjoy some of our favorite shots. See ya tomorrow!!!
You've probably noticed that we've had a bunch of groups visit Coker Tire in the past few months. Today, we had the Eliminators Car Club, all the way from Bucyrus, Ohio! They came in a diverse group of cars, ranging from a '67 Mustang to some more obscure cars, like a '60 Pontiac and a '57 Ford wagon, converted into a sedan delivery. There was even a '64 Ford ex-drag racer, which had all of the documentation, old pictures and event decals to prove it! Other cars included a cool '57 Chevy 150 and a Ford panel truck, rolling on Coker Classic wide whitewalls.
Alright, we'll admit it, Fox body Mustangs aren't really in our wheelhouse when it comes to the tire market. Some of the drag racing guys might run our Phoenix brand slicks, but for the most part, we're a bit out of the loop. However, the SVO Club of America heard about our place and wanted to come take a look during their big meet right here in Chattanooga, Tennessee. So we invited the group to take a tour, and grabbed a few photos while they were here.

That's right, we're proud to announce the availability of the new BFGoodrich Radial T/A Spec 245/55R18 Redline from Coker Tire! These tires were originally designed for use on the special edition Hurst Camaro, which is an awesome car built from a collaboration of the biggest names in the automotive aftermarket. Hurst, Detroit Speed and Engineering and BFGoodrich teamed up to build this car, and equipped it with a set of custom redline tires. The tires were such a hit with the public that BFGoodrich made a few extras, and they are now available right here at Coker.

It's official--we're in full on show season, so we have trucks and trailers, and people running the roads constantly. We have booths set up at nearly 50 events this year, so our guys are super busy with setting up for shows and making sure we have enough product to keep you guys happy! What you may not know is that while our trucks and trailers go to big events, we also hit up a few other shows just for the fun of it.
For instance, we dropped in on the NSRA Street Rod Nationals South this past weekend, which is held just up the road in Knoxville, Tennessee. It was a one-day trip, but we saw plenty of Coker Tire supporters in a wide variety of vehicles, from chopped and channeled Model A's rolling on Firestone whitewalls to flawlessly restored Camaros shod with redline tires. We snapped a few pictures along the way, so take a look. We might've grabbed a shot of your car!
